Can be used on bare wood, hardboard, MDF, and unsealed cork. This product is suitable for outdoor and indoor joinery in both hard and softwood, doors, windows, garden furniture and conservatories, and can also be used as a sealer for concrete. Colour: PineFinish: Satin Size: 500mlTo see the full range of Rustins Quick Dry Polyurethane Varnish Click HERE Rustins Quick Dry Polyurethane Varnish Extra Tough Interior and Exterior Use Satin Pine Usage Instructions Preparation: The surface must be clean, smooth, dry and free from wax, dust and contaminants. For best results, previously varnished surfaces should be stripped with Rustins Strypit Paint and Varnish Stripper. If not stripping, the surface should be rubbed down with glasspaper or wet and dry paper. Remove any wax by rubbing with White Spirit and steel wool and wipe away whilst wet. Cracks may be filled with Wood fillers. Open-grained wood can be filled with Grainfiller. Rustins Wood Dyemay be applied to bare wood before varnishing. Application: Stir well before use or it will dry to a gloss finish. Use a synthetic brush and apply liberally with a full brush finishing with the grain. Externally the first coat may be diluted with water on hot days (up to 15%). Do not apply to hot surfaces or in strong sunlight if possible or if rain is likely. Three coats are recommended. Lightly sand after the first coat if there is a raising of the grain. Note: with every successive coat of coloured varnish the finish will become darker, but may then be overcoated with clear varnish to maintain a satisfactory shade whilst achieving the total coating thickness. Re-coating Time: Further coats can be applied once the previous coat is dry. This will be touch dry in 30 minutes and can be re-coated in approximately 2 hours dependingon the temperature and humidity at the time of application. Coverage: 1 litre will cover approximately 12-15m² in 1 coat depending on the absorbency of the surface. Cleaning: Remove as much paint as possible and return to the container. Brushes should then be cleaned immediately with water. If the brushes become hard, they may be cleaned with Rustins Brush Restorer or Rustins Cellulose Thinners. Disposal (pollution prevention): Some local authorities have special facilities for the disposal of waste paints/varnishes /coatings. Do not empty the product into drains or watercourses.
